As a kid, I loved art. I had tons of notebooks and sketch pads, I loved art class, and I always wanted to try new mediums. Growing up, going to college, getting my first job…all those things pushed art onto the backburner for me.
Eventually, I went back to dabbling in various interests. In search of an outlet and some mental health care as a first time Mom. For me, it was desktop gaming that really triggered my more serious return to art. I decided to pick up some miniature’s, a few paints and brushes, and I would sit beside my husband’s weekly DND group painting while they played. I found I really loved that so I ended up getting more miniatures and paints and started taking classes locally.
All this creativity rekindled my overall interest in art. I got back into drawing and painting. I began exploring different mediums and interests such as digital art, painting walls/canvas/decorative items, using acrylics/oils/watercolors, coloring with colored pencils, and anything else I could try. I began taking art classes in watercolor, acrylic, and drawing whenever I could. I’m constantly on the look out for new classes around me.
I decided to name my little personal “art studio” Morphing Art as a nod to the fact that how I choose to express myself in art is constantly changing/growing/evolving as I try new things. I’ve learned so much and still continue to learn in so many different areas. There are so many ways to express yourself out there and its never too late to try something new.
